LG phone Shine

It’s been a long time since the LG Chocolate was first released to mobile shoppers in Australia. Many have wondered when the next fashionable phone from LG would be developed and released, the iMobile team included. Perhaps LG’s own employees were undecided on how they would design their next Black Label design handset, resulting in the near 12 months taken to bring us the next model. The new ‘LG Shine’ mobile phone popped up in the company’s home market of South Korea in October last year to rave reviews, before its GSM/3G cousin was unveiled at the CES trade show in Las Vegas this January.
Now, we have a prototype of the U970 LG Shine model destined for 3 stores. I can’t help but think of the Chocolate when I look at the LG Shine, perhaps because LG Shine shares the same shape. But gone are the touch-sensitive keys and glossy plastic shell. LG Shine have a silver, brushed metal slider phone with its screen hidden behind a veil of reflective plastic, making for a smooth, refined finish. There’s now a jog dial with two buttons for directional control, while the keypad beneath is a flat sheet of metal with indentations, like Motorola’s RAZR phones.
